4-Way Measurement Capabilities

The physical layout of the jaws allows you to take four distinct types of readings with a single tool:

1. External: The large lower jaws close around the outside diameters of pipes, bolts, or flat materials.

2. Internal: The smaller upper jaws expand outward inside holes, slots, or pipe openings to measure internal diameters.

3. Depth: The thin metal rod projecting from the tail end measures the depth of blind holes or recesses.

4. Step: The squared rear edges of the caliper head can measure the distance between stepped parallel surfaces.
